Maximus vs Bravo 1
Here is Graph I made of the difference a Maximus 5 blade made on my boat in the mid range, the only problem is I don't like running 5800 rpms. but with a full boat of people and fuel which it seems is the only way I run most of the time, I don't think I can go to a 30". Hopefully if I add more cup I can get my rpms down a little. but what a difference the 15 5/8" diameter made with ride and slip. http://www.offshoreonly.com/gallery/...php?file=17579

I would love to see a 30" Maximus prop on your boat and the graph.
|
wuped, what hp and gear ration in your AO?
|
Oppss.. meant gear ratio.
|
Sorry about that. Is has around 560 to 580 hp with 1.50 gears. guessing on hp never dynoed. 489 with 6 lbs boost. Top speed with the Bravo could have be a little higher.
|
If you would like to test a 30 Maximus in stock configuration to get a base line, call us and we'll set it up. It would be fun to add it to the graph.

Thx for the offer Brett, How many rpms can I lose by cupping my 28?
|
92 mph with 560 -580 hp? How light is that boat?
|
Manufacture says 3500 dry. It only has a 45 gal center tank also.

It is a B1, the previous owner had it rebuilt with XR? gears. The sticker on the side says stage VI by Half Track marine, who ever that is. I am very easy on the drive and a light boat helps also, I was very concerened about running a 5 blade. It seems to be working fine "knock on wood" I have about 250 hrs so far with the Maximus.

I have a friend that bought my old boat lift, the 26 sits lower in the water on the lift than my 1989 28 Scarab did. Scarab claimed 4600 dry,it weighed 5885 wet,100gal gas. Cool Graph ya made.:drink: |
Aprox. 400. Cruise speeds will actually climb too.

Thx Brett, if I come into some money I have it cuped.

OK, let me know if you have any other questions.
