Scarab III props

Hi all i have a 1988 34' scarab III with stock 454 330hp i have running 23 pitch quicksilver 3 blades and at WOT im hitting 5100rpm, so i talked to a guy at a local prop shop and he told me to run bravo 1 24 pitch 4 blades, Dose that sound right? Any feedback would be great!

My buddy had 24p bravos on his 34 scarab and he could only pull them to about 4500 or so, and he has twin 370HP.

Contact throttle up props or bblades props, they have prop testing programs. I think your 330's should be propped around 4600??

Yeah thats what i thought that my 23p would be fine but im hitting 5100rpms which is a little to high for my liking, i just bought the boat and the salesman told me the motors were stock but they have GIL offshore headers on them but from what i hear they dont help that much unless ur making big power. Did them 22p hydromotives help you in top end any?

I think a 24 sounds right in u'r case !!!

46-4800 RPM is where u need to be max.

so 24 4 blade or 25 3 blade !!!!

I am running TRS, You have Bravo's I agree with Daredevil ! The Q-IV's make the boat handle well, ALOT different than 3-blade

Ok guys thanks for all the feedback!! Now when you say handle alot different what all dose it inprove?

My buddy is now running hydromotive 22P quad IV props on his Scarab III. They work well on the boat, runs flatter and seems to not porpoise much.

If you are running the old 23P quicksilver mirage props, just going to a 23p mirage plus would drop a little rpm for ya. I ran those old quicksilver mirage props on my old 40ft excalibur, and if the water was even remotely rough, I couldnt get on plane. Top speed for me was the same with them as a 22 hydromotive, but midrage was awful with the quicksilvers.

See my boat jumps out of the water with no problem at all with no trim tap use just drives all the way in but I would love to gain midrange cuz i dont plane to run down the river at WOT all day (as much as i would like to). And i dont know if this hurts it or not but the prop guy told me my 23s have been reconditioned 3 times.

Mid thunder is correct, the 4 blade handling is Sooo much better. The Mrs. even noticed. Rides on rails not slippery as with the 3 blades..if that makes sense..Dave. my motors are back next week can't wait !
