prop question

so first off i want to thank everyone on OSO for all your help with my project. So i finally got my boat running and it runs good but now i need some help. Ok so i have a 30' conquest enforcer with a 502 mark 5(fresh rebuild) and i just put the sidemount whipple on. Edelbrock aluminum heads and roller cam. Bravo XR with a 2 inch lower. Just had her water tuned and runs well. I have a question about props? Im running a stock bravo1 28p. Full throttle and trimed up im running approx 5000 to 5100 rpm with 5 passengers and full gas. It pulls real hard from 4000 to 5000. My question is what RPM range should i be in with my motor setup? And could I step up to a 30p or should i lab finish my 28p. Also I want a prop to help with bow lift, any suggestion? dont know if bravo1 is bow lifting prop or not. Im proping for speed cause i dont pull any skiers. Thanks again

I would lab my 28 ,,,the RPM sounds a little low for that motor.
My guess is more like 5400-5600 RPM:party-smiley-004:
They can also work the prop at the shop to give it more bow lift.

if i go to a 30p, what will the RPM difference bewteen the 28p? I just wanna go fast haha

should be around 400 RPM slower,,but u need it at the same,,,so if u go 1 size smaller it should compensate for the more drag ???!!!

Does that make sense ??????!!!!!!

IF YOU GO WITH 1 SIZE SMALLER IT SHOULD MAKE THE BOAT GO FASTER AND RASE YOUR RPM'S :coolcowboy:

No i dont know what that means.... are u saying i should go to a 26p?

I would like to go to a 30p labb and cup if it would work and pull 5100rpms cause i want more top end lol

Other way around, smaller # = higher RPM

DareDevil 06-01-2009 02:17 PM

try a 27 or 26 pitch and see what it does ,,,the engines should turn @5400 max.

U will gain speed @ higher RPM but don't push it .LOL

what about a 3 blade? its a heavy deep-v with conservative x-demension but i put the 2" lower so its better now. Ive read on BBlades website that a 3 blade might work for mine well, just wondering?

conquest30' 06-03-2009 04:53 PM

anybody think a 3 blade would work?
