Spin in or out?

I have a 1988 Baja 280 sport with twin efi 502's mostly stock, bravo 1 26p, should i be spinning them in or out? I was at the Clearwater races this weekend and a tech there suggested running them out instead of in?

On some boats, yes. I tried back to back tests with in vs. out and saw zero difference on my 31SS. Just give it a try. Switch the props and run your drives in reverse.

just one in reverse,:drink: have fun trying to park it,gets confusing:drink:

All these years people have been trying to get me to try running them in.This was a real close comparison, maybe a little lighter, out on a good day 102 out. thruning in 105,it was carying the stearn higher also the nose was higher than norm.after that 105 pass I found the hp Gimbel ring pin broke in half, I could grab the skeg and move it side to side 1 inch:eek:

I have found turning in 2 mph faster on my rig ( 3 blade mirages) testing 4 blade bravo1's little to no speed increase?
Docking gets a little tricky with the blades turning in.

Spinning in gives more bow lift and out gives more stern lift.

Yes, yes, yes, yes...............

Docking becomes more and more difficult turning in as the "X" dimention rises. Standard Baja X's can work pretty well with a little practice.

In leverages the transom. What feels like more stern lift is really a loose feeling due to the bow being higher and the hull free er.

Generaly in is faster on your hull. Try it and see but, as Strip said, you have to really consentrate after the test. I have been embarressed more than once docking and trailering

Brett I need ya to come drive mine, try and figure what its doing.I cant give good feed back, turning in it actually felt like a dirt bike wheeling across a mud puddle carring the wheel across it,no snaking, also the ass end was alot higher riding,it was still porpoising, but it was carring the nose longer, but the porp was more violent,it would jump 1-2 mph on each hop.on the up cycle I had to turn into it right.it would bounce back up,I had to steer into it as it was coming.once it hit 105 it bounced twice didn't pick up any, I shut it down, thats why my Buddy's want ride, chine walk to the rub rail:drink:I think if I switch the shifter it would not be bad docking,I just scared of running the gears in the opposite direction that they have been running, like a paper clip.Just if I had a center like a fountain:drink:

oyea the hinge pin was broke too:eek:
