Help quick ? on props

My 29 outlaw has 22 pitch 3 blade props and am getting just shy of 60 mph.

Talked to several owners of same boat, same motors and they say I should be pushing mid 60's to 70mph. They have 24 or 25 pitch 3 blades.

My question is What is this in relation to 4 blades. I like the looks of 4 blades but have no idea what pitches differ etc. with an extra blade.

Thanks

What engines do you have? Are you using gps or factory speedo? Do you understand how to trim the boat to get the best top speed?

Its been since last season but just above 4

They are the 330 horse carb 454's, garmin gps

yes, I have trimmed the boat as much as I could. Thanks for the help

Somethings not right. Most of the 330 hp 29 Outlaws came with 23 pitch Mirage 3 blades and spun those 4600 rpm easily. Speed would probably be in the mid 60's. I'd guess either tired motors or a hook in the hull. :(

motors have just over 400 hours not sure if that considered tired?

Not sure why the 22's were on it, and I could be wrong on the Rpm's haven't ran it since last sept. All the people i have talked to with the same boat said the same mid 60's so I'm hoping a couple pitch prop change will do it.

23 mirage came stock?

Are you sure they are 22 pitch?? most 3 blades only come in odd # sizes. I would double check that, and double check your tachometer to make sure it is reading right. If all checks out, something is not right, But if you need one I have a 23 mirage, and a 21 mirage plus that I would sell if you think they would help.

def. are 22 pitch, I found it odd myself.

How do you double check your tach, dyno?

Just make sure the switch is on 8 cylinder, or you could rig up a different one and try. Also, size(diameter) and blade surface area, and cupping may be a factor, what make and model is the prop?

Are both motors taching about the same?
