What pitch Hydromotive P5X should replace a Bravo 26
Looking to replace a Bravo 26p with a Hydro P5X. The 26 runs well and is right at the rev limiter. I had the chance to try a Hydro 26 P5X and the boat would not even plane. Boat is a 99 Fountain 29. Any info will be appreciated.

I was running a 26 Bravo (very labbed) and wanted to try a P5X. Hydromotive recommended a 24 and it was right on. Is your 26 stock or labbed? The P5X seems to carry the stern a bit higher on my application. It does stay on plane easier with the P5X, but I still prefer the Bravo. Some may disagree. If you were closer I would let you borrow mine before you dump down a grand. Can you borrow from someone to try?

Thanks for the reply. The Bravo 1 26p is stock. I did try a P5X 26p. The boat would not even plane. I liked a Bravo 24p. The boat got out of the hole well, mid was good but I was hitting the rev limiter.

The P5X will hook up tighter.
We have all these propellers for testing. Let me know if you would like to try the in between pitch sizes. Brett |

If you liked the B1's and didn't like the Hydros, I would test a 28 Bravo 1 and Lab it to meet the boats specs. 27 and 29 Fountains can be touchy as far as the recipe. The slip can grow too much with standard templated Labs. Therefore the base line numbers are important.
