35' Fountain Ex w/ 500EFI's

Done a lot of research on here but haven't found a good recommendation yet for a boat with the same setup as mine- most of the posts involve modified motors. The boat is stock, and I believe the drives are 1.5's. Has 26" pitch 4-blade Hydro's on it now. I want to get a spare set of props for it and figured it wouldn't hurt to try to milk a little more speed out of her at the same time. What are the recommendations for this boat to get a couple extra MPH out of her? Thanks!

Some 28 Bravos labbed by Merc should work well, ran them on my last Fountain w/ 500's. Also some 27 or 28 Quad 4's worked by Hydromotive would be an option.

Given the year of your boat I would agree with the last poster. My drive was buried and didn't benefit from the 5 blades until I raised it.

When you say "raised it" what do you mean exactly? I am new to the offshore club and trying to figure everything out. Doing a lot of reading on here which has helped tremendously, but some things are still a little vague. Could you elaborate? Also, have heard (read) that 5 blade props can be pretty hard on B1's... have you had that experience?

I assume that Rebel means until he changed to -2" lowers, which then raises the "X" dimension in relation to the boat bottom.

Again, based on my experience a set of Merc labbed 28 Bravos are a nice choice for your package. That set up will respond to the shortie lowers and show you some speed gains should you decide to spend the money.

First, testing stock B1's would be the best start to determine your seat of the pants thoughts.
Second, we can replicate the Merc Racing recipe if so decided. I was there (Mercury) thoughout that whole time frame. I remember the first Labbed B1 in 1994.
Otherwise, we can custom build them to your needs.
B1's are the ticket for speed with your set up.

Let us know if we can help in your decision.

Hey Brett- I sent an email through your website asking for a recommendation but never heard anything back. I would like to pick up a set of B1's if that's the place to start. I also have a line on some 28 Hydro's if those are similar and would work as well. Let me know- THanks!

I see that you are connected with the right man. Brett knows his applications and will point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your patience.
