Which Prop is the right prop for my ELIMINATOR

I have a 2008 27 Daytona open bow with a 496HO and a Bravo XR outdrive. It has a 26pitch bravo one prop on it now and it doesn't seem like the boat can reach its full potential. At wide open throttle at 4800 rpm i am pushing 67mph on gps. Which seems to be a little slower than what it should be. Help me out and tell me if this is the right prop for my boat or what would be the best option to go with.

What is the gear ratio in the out drive?

seems to be a good prop... probably good cruise speed.. wouldn't think you would get much more out of the HO. maybe 70 if you had the prop dialed in a bit

Try a 25P M+ or a 24P B1......4800 RPM's is low, you need to get it propped so it runs 5000+. Did you like the way the 4 blade felt?

fbc25el: I do not know what the gear ratio is as of now. I will post it tomorrow when I am able to find out.

Baja Man: I do like the way the 4 blade feels... I with you on the 4800rpm's. It seemed a bit low to me as well...

Sounds very much like a 1.5 gear. That would be 15% slip. A 1.36 would make it 23% and that seems high. A 1.65 would be 6%, and that is rather low, but possible. I haven't seen alot of 1.65 ratio's on the 496HO tho.

I don't know much about eliminators, but I would guess a cat that size, should run atleast 70 mph with that power. A good v-bottom like a Fountain 27 of the same year runs about 65-67 with that power, and I just can't imagine that hull being as efficient as a Daytona.

He says in his post that it is a Daytona open bow.

maybe a rev 4 25.

+1 on the rev 4 25p! that might be the ticket. Should lift the boat a little more... that would be the one to test!

dont forget that the xr will be a bit slower than a bravo leg
but 4800 is not enough rpm
you need to get the rpms up to just over 5000
i had a similar problem on my lavey craft
stock turns a 24p 4blade tried several props and settled on a labbed 26p 4b
this got me not my highest speed but my best speed of a constant 68 gps at 5100 rpm
if speed is all you want try a 3blade go up 1pitch
2 pitches if its labbed
on my boat with the same power not a cat the labbing process was about 400 rpm and the 30 to 40 ponnies i gained with the headers was also worth about 400 rpm and 1 p
with a stock 24p 4 blade bravo prop 5100 rpm 63 mph gps
after headers was able to turn a labbed 26 4b to the same rpm at 68mph gps
