best prop for 22' hammer with mild mods?
Got A Carbed 7.4 Ltr In 97 Baja Hammer Thinkn Of Doin Bigger Carb/ Intake An Possibly Msd Ignition To Free Up Sum Exsisting Power/ Create Around 200-400 More Rpms Or So? Running A Nice Surface Peircing Prop That Runs Around 70 Completely Empty.. Wonderin What Would Work Best Maybe For Parts/ Pitch Prop To Get The Most Top Speed Possible With The Mild Bolt Ons? Any Info Would Help.. Thanx A Lot!

I'm suprised that a "surface piercing prop" would work well on that boat. Bajas usually have conservative drive heights. My guess would be a Mirage +.

You made it onto oso finally! Welcome BUTTERCUP BECKLEY

There are options. Your current prop model and the actual performance numbers will help make the decision.

Numbers completely stock and empty are about 67-68 @4800 rpms .. with carb, intake an ignition wondering if anyone's had a 25 or 26p on there maybe with a 454 mag?/ numbers it ran?

Beckley- here is your best option, replace the boat not the prop :lolhit: you need a bigger boat for all your babes!

I don't know what a numbers completely stock propeller is.
When you want to get specific... We're here. Brett |
i'm guessing you have the mirage plus 23p, had that on my hammer and best i got was 66 maybe 67, added dana marine exhaust and changed to a mirage plus 25p and ran consistent 68 and occasionally a 70 in perfect conditions, exhaust freed up some rpm and could swing the 25p at 4600, 4800 is the top of your rpm band so you could come down alittle

Our hammer runs 70 with labbed 24bravo and 72 with labbed 25mirage +. This is with a 454mag mpi box stock and in best conditions.
