ok, ive got a 1972 Wellcraft nova 250 with twin small blocks, roughly 300 hp each , boat is about 5200 pounds, im only turning about 4000-4100 rpms on both tachs , wot gps speed 48-49 mph with 21 quick silvers, I also tried 21 pitch clevers this past weekend with the same results , would dropping to 19s be my best bet to get higher rpms and speeds ? , thanks Rich

Possibly yes. Determine the recomended WOT rpm for your engines and prop to that upper end.
