mirage props

i run a mirage + 25p...will my top speed change with a regular mirage 25p? (5400)
boat is a 1995 pq 27ft...engine is blown and easily pulls the m plus.
thanks

Hi

I have a non plus Mirage 27p RH that has been labbed. It is flawless. I will take 300 plus ride if you want it.

osur866 01-05-2012 12:50 AM

When comparing a 25pM+ to a 25p non + the 25 non plus you should spin highr rpm's, one the difference between the + and non + is the + has more cup which will reduce your rpm's then non plus.

In most cases slip will go up with the rpms, and bow lift will decrease. Whether or not one works better than the other, is a matter of the particular boat in question and testing. My experience is that, the M+ generally is the better prop. If looking for top end, give a labbed M+ 27 a thought. Bblades, DAH ect. will be happy to help you.

bblades

was hoping brett would tell us.....

Looks a little like a small round ear Mach but the hub is different and Mach's had their name cast in. Unless it is a very early one that I have never seen.

The vibro peen 29P looks like the work of the Spinelli Bros. but they always put their name on the prop too. Plus this isn't like any Geometry I remember from their repertoire.

I'm not sure what it is but I would bet it is a early representation of what the model became since there isn't any cast markings on it.

If we had it our shop in our hands, I might be able to get you a better answer.

Thank you,
Brett

question is:judging by the shape, can this prop be any good for my boat?or should i toss it in the flea market box??
1995 pq 27,496ho/whipple +.030'',bravo xr,approx 600hp
thanks,
jack

Looks like the diameter may be a touch smal but, every prop that "may" work is worth trying.
We'll learn something.

If your running a 3 blade right now on a PQ then almost any 4 blade is going to slow you down a couple mph assuming the 3 blade is the right pitch for your boat and it sounds like it is. That 4 blade prop in question might be good for cruising or pulling a skier or tube. I would keep it if I were you .. Never know when you might bang up your prop.

Chris

''...good for cursing...''..im familiar with that :lolhit:

fastscarab,thanks...nobody really sure of what it is so far...i''l measure the diameter..maybe that'll help...i dont understand why a prop mfg.wont put its name on it...but im still a newbie as far as props go...

pqjack 07-22-2012 09:40 PM

brought this back for someone......

stickman811 07-22-2012 10:08 PM

Okay, well it looks to be in serviceable condition. Now.. What are the odds my stock 454 mag would spin this thing in a pinch??

pqjack 07-23-2012 07:39 AM

26P would be a lot of prop for a stock 330...jmo

VetteLT193 07-23-2012 08:16 AM

might be one of the props in the turbo 2+2 line.

pqjack 07-23-2012 11:04 AM

thanks,vette....ill look into it...

stickman811 07-23-2012 11:05 AM

Yep, I'm thinking a 24 is about the max I wanna go until I upgrade Port/Polish, Cam, Roller Rocker next Spring. Just didn't wanna have a 40 mph prop as my Backup..LOL
