Bravo3 prop selection BBlades help?

Here is what I have:
24' BatBoat
380 hp 390 ft. lbs torque small block
5300 rpm's
Bravo 3 with 1.5 ratio

I have a stock set of 28P cupped props that we will begin with. Where do you think we will end up? Hopefully we will be on the water mid-April for testing. Is the new Mercury set (4X3) worth trying?

Thanks.

I think you will be happier with the 3x3 set up. We can do more with these props than we can with the 4x3 or the 4x3XR. The 4x3 props are great for heavier boats looking for low end and cruise speed advantages.

The Merc Racing XR series propellers are a series we began developing in the 2001 time frame and releases a few years later. The design was initiated to prevent cavitation burn which we were experiencing on sportcruisers (Fountain specifically) using bigger power like the 500efi. The 4 blade front was actually a slight mistake that turned out to be a winner for certain applications.

Once you get a baseline we can move forward from there.

Will do. What all information do you need on the "baseline"?

After plenty of additional reading I see that the 4X3 is just what you say.

36Tango,

We will need rpm at wide open throttle of course. Also the speed you are running at WOT.
There are some other questions I will like to ask you about handling.

I'd like to discuss those questions on the phone with you when possible.

Thank you,
Brett
