Some prop questions for my Bird
Hey all I have a quick question or two. I have a 1989 Formula 223ss. The boat is bone stock with 330 hp/700 hours. Im running 55.9 gps at 4400 rpm, which sounds normal for this boat. I have a Stainless Mirage 23p 3blade on it now. I looked but couldnt find a diameter size. The boat jumps out of the like no ones business (at least thats what it seems compared to my old one) I would bet 3-4 seconds
I would like a little more top end out of it and do not pull skiers or tubers. Any suggestions? I have done alot of research and Im at a loss still. Should I look into a four blade, cleaver style, higher pitch, or just shut up and enjoy it as is? |
You need a Revolution 4 pitch 21

emmettfire45,
Sorry for missing this question. Your doing pretty good right now. Your slip % is 12.5 and that pretty good for this hull. I believe you are leaving about 1-2 mph on the table. This speed could be found by Lab Finishing your existing propeller. We can make some other performance enhancements to the prop as well. Going to a 4 blade like the Rev 4 is a great mid range and fuel economy option. Call us anytime if you wish to discuss this further. Brett |
