flo-torque hub or solid hub
have always used solid hub type prop on boat (merc 502 magnum)looking to upgrade to mirage plus prop, and i located a flo-torque hub prop at a very good price.will i have any issues?,any differences?

If your motor is stock, the flo-torque should be fine, may even save your propshaft by breaking the hub rather than the shaft if ya ever hit anything.

Old post but similar question. I just bought a 25P M+ with the Flo-Torq hub, and box says Bravo up to 400hp. I have a 502 Mag MPI in an Baja 232, 415hp. I didn't think much of it when I ordered the prop, as I had run Flo-Torq on my previous boats, with less HP.
I like the idea of the Flo-Torq saving from an impact, but is there an issue with running it in the slightly higher HP then recommended? |
my original post, never had any issues with the prop/hub

You'll be fine as long as your engine stays stock or very close to it.

Keep a spare insert in the boat. Eventually you will crack the delrin with your HP.

Thanks, great tip. Just realized my old prop on there was a flo-torq as well. Hub is still with boat in storage, but I am going to guess the delrin is likely worn/cracked now that you brought that up.

You can always make your plastic FloTorq a solid hub with the SS insert.
