Hey Old School, I hope all is well for you!
Both props were built by a technician that worked for me at Mercury Racing in the 1990's. The LH was built in May of 1997 to a standard Lab (at that time spec.) The RH was built inJan. of 1999 to a standard Lab (at that time spec.) Of course nobody knows what's been done to them since then??? They are 4 blades so you can check the diameter. Take care and let me know if you want us to go through them. Brett |
Thanks for the info Brett.
I ran the props last weekend....and picked up 7 mph @ 4000rpm's!!!!! (64mph) ....but could only turn them to 5100 at WOT. They have been cut down to a diameter of 16.5 and I think are probably more than 31 pitch. My other set of props are a 16.5 diameter and a true 29 pitch. I run 57 mph @ 4000 rpm's and can get 6100 rpm's out of them at WOT. |
Geez! Only 64 @ 4k? I'm 56 @ 3500. Maybe we should trade boats? LOL
|
Indeed true pitch of those propellers from that vintage would be 32.
Use that for calcs..... B |
Hey Craig, I got some 17x29 props, that measured 29.5" of pitch on my local prop shop scan machine. Your welcome to try them if I can try those 16.5x29's you got....Mine are high polish finish, I know you like that lol
