Best prop for Scarab 33 AVS

Can anyone share their experience on which props worked best on their 33avs with twin step hull?
I currently have 28B1's that rotate out, but am looking to change pitch due to being at high elevation. Looking to get a little better on plane performance and midrange cruise. I was looking at a pair of Hydro P5x's in 25p thinking the 5 blade would really help me here. Does anyone have any experience with running 5 blades on the twin step hull? Too much bow lift??
Thanks for all your input!!

Adding blades creates more stern lift, not bow lift. A freind used to have 5 blades on his 33 AVS and he liked them. The 28 B1's and 25 P5X's will spin very close to the same rpm at the same elevation, so you may need to drop down some more.

Thanks Griff, I was under the impression that you only went down 1 pitch for the extra blade.

True going from 3 blades to 4 blades, but going from Bravo 1 4 blades to Hydro P5X's will be closer to a 3" difference.

Also remember that the true pitch of your 28's are about 27". So adding to what Griff said, you are really going from a 27 to a 25 in true pitch.

Sounds like just what I need then!
Better cruise and planing here at elevation (which is what I'm after) and similar top end performance at sea level.
Just won't turn as many rpms here in Colorado which is no big deal.
I'm currently turning 4600 or so with the 28 b1's

4600rpms with what power????? If they are 454 or 502 mags, then you need some more rpm. You should try a pair of 26 Bravo 1's. They will plane out faster.

stock 502 mag mpi's
i am running the 28p bravos that are meant for sea level, so 4600 at 5,000' elevation isn't bad.
