compare

Hello;

Please help me on next questions:

- any chance for prop test there in Europe from Hydromotive P5, PT OXF5 with 26-27 pitch or Hering Bravo stile 15"" diameter?
- any datas of compare in % which prop it is harder for engine at hole shot; Maximus, PT OXF5, Hering Bravo stile or Hydromotive P5 if have same pitch? All with out of exhaust ventilating.

We tested PT with 21" pitch and it work well, unfortunately missing at least 5" pitch.

sinus,

Test propellers to Europe is tough. (It is only because of the shipping costs)

Getting your most exact information from the current set up you are running can allow us to give the best suggestions we have from the over 80 years of combined experience we have at BBLADES.

Give me all the info and details of your boat as far as the performance you have seen.

Boat current rpm and speed at WOT (wide open throttle), gear ratio. boat model, year, engine (displacement, tork/HP curves), desired rpm at WOT, ability to plane, performance goals, ability to trim etc. etc.

With this information, we will be able to give you the best one time finished product. It will perform better than any other propeller you try as long as the information you supply us is accurate.

Hello;

Thanks for answer bblades. Two days ago I sent two e-mails on your addresse, but probably they lost somewhere.

We made light pad bottom boat with two marinized and modified engines of Suzuki Hyabusa conected in V8 shape and geared rpm. New exhausts and intake bring us additionally 12% power, which mean reall 385-390 hp on prop shaft.

From now I will operate only with prop shaft rpm, to make comapre more easy.
- Torque on prop shaft at 3385 rpm/wot it is almost the same like at 8,2 HO with 1:1,5 Bravo1, only on first 800 or 900 rpm it is HO slightly better and on top 25% it is better our engine. (On papers, reall I do not know exact.)

- Boat it is 29 feets lengh and 8,2 feets brite.
V on transom 24 degrees

- delta pad 18 degree and 15" brite

- MSA Marine surface drive. It is surface drive with cover on top and you see roster tail only at acceleration. Prop shaft it is on line with bottom or even higher for inch.

- boat weight 3800# with out of liquids and passangers

Last november we tested it at 12 oC air temperature, 3690 rpm/wot and PT OXF5-21" prop. It is come out to plane and ride well, but with out of any chance for bigger pitch becouse of bad hole shot .
This june we made next test, but at 34 oC air temperature boat did not want to plane, rpm and prop made simple to high torque for our engine.

To find where we are, we change gear reduction to have only 2950 rpm and with PT or with Maximus 26" it is boat jump from water. With out of moderate trottle it is come out in ca 3-4 secconds, but with miserable end speed.
With PT we reach 49 mph at wot, but this we reach almost in second after hole shot.

With this two experiences we decide to go on 3385 rpm/wot. We are sure, that at this rpm will our engine bring our boat on plane with 26" or 27" prop which have simlary torque caracteristics like tested PT, but with Maximus will be same troubles like with PT at higher rpm in june.
On this moment we have two props for test one it ismentioned PT and seccond Maximus 26". I am sure that Maximus it is to hard for our boat, we will have with smaller props good slip to, but more possibility for higher pitch-speed.

Boat it is easy to trim, with PT we have enough bow lift.

How our boat plane at this poor 49 mph you could find in Youtube if put on BI BUSA BOAT. My brother it is made thre small videos with handy. (Dash curving on video it is becouse of camera effect, dash it is stable.)

We go on this project to made light, fuell efective boat with lot of living space and low service costs. Our whishes are:
- more than 70 mph
- fuell eficiency at 50-60 mph
- hole shot like standard at other boats.

If you need more datas please tell me. We need to find correct props before the end of august to made finally boat tests in this year.
Producer of our drive tell us, that we will have same results with classic or expencive surface props and on net I find props like P5, which seems that they not take so much power at hole shot like Maximus. After hole shot, when engines reach 5.000 rpm (1570 prop shaft) they are great and pull like crazy until limiter and on this phase I do not scare round of power.

Please check you email.
I found 1 of your emails in another other than inbox file and responded to it.

Thank you,
Brett
