27' w/SC 502 & 4 blade 28P question
 

4 blade needs repair, got bent. Need to get it repaired but seems as expensive as buying a good used prop. I have a 24P 3 blade cleaver from an alpha sittin in the garage. Also looking into 5 blades on eBay and CL. Question is, if you go from a 3 to a 4, or a 4 to a 5 blade, should you change pitch? With current 28P (with bent blade) I can hit 72MPH GPS somewhere close to 5500 RPM. I would like to go faster with less RPM (wouldn't we all) and the engine seems to have plenty of power. would think either more blades or more pitch - or both. Any input appreciated.

Because your slip is high more blades can help. However, you boats aren't 5 blade boats.
