Scarab 28 excel prop
 

Hi i would like to know what will be the wright prop for my boat i got a 7.4 v8 454 engine with 380 hp with a bravo one drive, at the monent i'm using a bravo one 4 blade 24 pitch prop and doing around 53 mph. I need some help about what prop i need

I had a 23 pitch 3 blade on my 88 28 excel. Motor was closer to 500 hp with dry Gils and ran 72 with 3 people and hald tank. What RPM are you getting?

Its hitting around 4300 rpm i even got a 8.2 liter 502 efi and it too only hits arond 54mph at full throttle. When i tried the 3 blade 23 pitch i didnt even move i only had high revs at the engine

A properly tune 3 blade should give you the best top speeds. I wonder if the one you were using was out of wack.

We can improve your 24 4 blade to get you into the recomended rpm band. This is assuming 4600 is the minimum and the propeller is a untouched Bravo 1 or similar.

I was using a 21p mirage 3 blade on my 88 Scarab 28' excel 454 mag 365hp and it produced a speed of 51mph @ 5100 rpm.

back in the day i was running a 21 3 blade and a 19 4 blade blade with that hp. the 4 blade seemed to make the boat more stabile .
