The BBlades Crew
Just got my props back from BBlades today. They look great and can't wait to put em on and run them. The whole crew at BBlades was great to work with.If you have any prop issues or questions Brett is the man all day long. Thanks for everything Brett.I will most likely send you those old stern drivers to work for me once I run these new ones. Can't hurt to get a spare set around.
Thanks Again Norm |
Wish that was the case for everyone. We had a set done threw a ear first time out after lapped and got charged again.

Norm,
Thank you for the compliment. We always strive to be and do the best. Carter, First it is Labbed not lapped. Short for Laboratory. Losing a blade doesn't have anything to do with BBLADES unless we Labbed it for a KILO recipe. And then we have told you it has a short life expactancy in the initial conversation. That is not the case in this case. Your complaint is with the guy at Mercury plant 98 that poured the casting to quick and created porosity or too slow and created a cold roll. Castings can fail. I'm sorry you experienced that. Brett |
Is there some way that a propeller casting can be checked to see if it has faults prior to labbing so that people don't throw money away on bad castings?

Metalurgists (spellig?) will have x-ray equipment for metal. We do not have that equipment. I don't know any prop shops that do. We did have it at Mercury but it wasn't in the prop shop but rather was its own department for various uses.
The cost to do each propeller outweighs its worth. When you look at the thousands of props that don't fail, you realize the small percentage that does. Brett |
