37 Outerlimits Help

Boat is a single step running 700hp NA motors that turn to 5400 rpms per Goodwin's recommendations. Konrad ACE drives with 1" spacers per Konrad. Rough measurements put the propshafts approximately 5" below the hull. At around 5200 RPM's im running 82-83 mph with 30P Hydromotive P5's and the boat starts to develop a porpoise or hop. It can't be controlled with trim or tabs, so I usually just have to back out of the throttle. Doesn't do it until you get right to the top end. I was hoping for some ideas of props to try for this boat. Otherwise the boat handles/cruises great. Its just that issue at the top end. Any ideas I would love to hear them. Thanks-

northerndoc,

What way are you spinning the propellers, in or out?
There are methods of adjusting the P5's to help leverage te transom to carry the bow.
If we were starting from scratch I would suggest a propeller with rounder trailing edges such as a Maximus or a P5X.
Let us know if we can help further.

I agree with Brett, try our P-5 X's, or let us put more bow lift in the P-5's. Also, if not doing so already, try turning prop outward as well as inward.

Hi Brett and Thom- thanks for the replies. The props are currently turning inward. Due to the fact that the Konrads use transmissions, I'm not familiar with how to get them to turn out like you can with Bravos (internally shifted). I will look into this further. I am definitely considering buying a second set of props. Never been of fan of NOT having a spare set in the garage. I have contacted your shop, Brett via email. When you get to it let me know if you have some ideas as far as testing. Based on the given information- would it be a good idea to stick with 30P props or maybe drop down a little to get that extra 200rpm? Also- I know some of the Merc props aren't always true to marked pitch- is this true?
