Donzi ZX 28 scorpion ..... Prop?

I have been told that 25 mirage plus is the props to go with... And that's what I have. But I have also been told its a high 70's boat. I'm turning my 25's at 5100 rpm and running right around 73-74 GPS. On a prop slip calculator that's right at %9 slip , that's seems to good. But I'm lost as to how I can exspect to go any faster with these props? Oh and leading edges have some small nicks in them but I'm afraid to send them off mid summer unless I have to.

We can Lab Finish the props to gain a couple hundred rpm and a couple few mph as well.
Our current lead time is 1.5 weeks.
Let us know if we can help.

Brett

I was going to give you a calm Brett and talk to you, I'm trying to decided between getting a set of labbed mirage 27's that you labbed and added some cup to and send you my mirage plus 25's to refinish for rec use or having you work them/labbed and add pitch and buying a like new set of 25 mirage pluses. My red line is 5200 rpm

You haven't said what engine you have. The engine will dictate the rpm requirements. Also, what year is your boat? That will help determine whether you need a bow lifting prop or otherwise. If you are interested in other options, please call. 330-425-4266

Thanks,

Thom

I have merc 377 scorpion blue motors. They are rated t
At 350 HP at the props.... I think they have 377 HP at the crank. I have bravo 1 drives. Redline/limiter is 5200( never hit it) that on top of the cover. I keep looking at the merc prop slip calculator and to see 79 mph ya need a 27 pitch prop and have like %9 slip on the limiter. But everything I read test boats were hitting 80 with a 25..... I'm lost....

Thom.. I noticed a few threads in which you posted?? not to hijack, but the Thread is called, "Donzi ZX 28 scorpion ..... Prop?"

Whats your background? I doubt you will get any business selling props if you don't start reading the threads... "scorpion" as in Scorpion motors...

OP: my brother in law has a 28zx with 350s and he is turning 23s close to 5k... that puts him closer to 4-5% which is pretty good, I would try some 27's first before tinkering with the 25p...

Here you are again. Posting with out reading the dam thread. WTF man. Where is a mod at? Why is this person even allowed on here. I you don't kow what a scorpion is you probably don't need to comment Like you know the donzi hull, or what kind of props he may need.

Hope you stop being retarded or get banned.

If I could get my slip down to 4-5% I would be where I should be..... I I didn't think you could get down that low. Maybe the Knicks on the leading edge are really hurting me

Don't know what year you have but do all 28zx's have steps?? He has a 98 and has 2 I believe.

mptrimshop 07-06-2013 08:21 AM

I have a 2000 .... And yes I think they all are the s bottom .... 2000 they put a different cockpit on but I think that was the only change. They all have 2 steps and a pad....
