Looking for the best Prop for my boat
 

I have a 1988 Sea Ray Pachanga 22 with a 502 EFI paired with a Bravo 1 drive. I currently have two props. I believe the one is a 21P Merc Mirage and the other is a 25P Merc Mirage. Both 3 blade props. The 21P will get my boat out of the hole in a hurry but the top end is about 55-58 mph where as the 25P is a dog out of the hole but will push the boat to 70-72 mph. I believe I'm correct on that but may have that mixed up. The prop that will give me more top end is currently getting repaired and balanced.

I've been told to maybe try a 4 blade prop? Any advice on the best prop? I'm really looking to get at least 70 mph top end but have the boat plane out better and faster.

Quick FYI as well: I currently have spring loaded trim tabs on my boat that are old and one of the springs is shot. I will be replacing them soon with new ones.

3 blade propellers will produce the best top end on your hull.
Let's here the results from the repaired Mirage and we can go from there. We have done some pretty sweet things with Mirage props on Pachangas.

We have done many SeaRay Pachanga's. We have had excellent results with a cut down Quad IV. SeaRay used to use Merc cleavers on all the Pachanga's until Merc quit building the cleaver. Please call to discuss.

Yes the overall performance of this hull is effected the same with the same propeller geometry. Meaning at moderate top speed capacities, this boat loves bow lift. At high big HP top speed, the bow lift requirements will slightly decrease. For that reason I don't believe the Q4 is a good option. Even cut down that prop is still a stern lifter. That doesn't mean it won't work, it just isn't a go to propeller as a starting point.
