Need prop suggestions/alternatives for Cigarette style hull (36' with blower motors)
I've got an off-brand boat, a 36' Force 10. It is supposedly a 38' Top Gun bottom hull with 2' cut off and different top deck. From being beside other Top Guns, I definitely think its the case!
Anyway, I'm running Tall Deck 540s with Vortech Blowers. The Motors are approx 750-800HP (Dart heads, brodix intakes, fuel injected, JE pistons, carillo rods, callies cranks). Hooked to Huber 1350 Trannies and SSM3 outdrives. The trannies are actually in an 'extension box' built into the swim platform. The prop shafts are about 2.5" below the running surface. I'm turning 17 3/4" diameter 4 Blade 31P Rolla cleaver props. 44MPH at 2600 RPM Approx 54MPH at 3100 RPM 80 MPH GPS at 4350 RPM WOT 86 MPH GPS in fresh water at 4700 RPM (pretty much trimmed out). I feel I'm WAY low on RPM for these motors! The boat is fairly trick to plane. Tabs have to be all the way down and throttles feathered as it will blow out quite easily. I dont know which props I should try? Lower pitch? Same pitch smaller diameter? 5 blade? Any help appreciated |
