32 Herings

Can anyting be done to pick up a few RPM's on some Stock 32 Hering 5 Blade - 20 degree Rake or would I be better off selling them and I trying something different? I picked up this set from the swap shop here on the board. They look brand new they are just to tall for me. I have a 37 Active Thunder AVH with twin 555 (622hp) engines, XR Drives (standard height). I spun them to 4700 rpms (80 mph) - looking to get to at least 5K so my engines will be a little happier. I was impressed with the pick up in cruise speeds over the 32 Bravos but I really struggled coming out of the whole. Any advice is appreciated.

I have a set of 6 blade Hering 32's for sale or trade, that would get your RPMs up a little. There in swap shop.

Cbra100+,
Going to 6 blade Herings of the same pitch is not going to get the rpm up. It might pull the rpm down a little.

1980,
We could depitch the Leading edge and reduce the cup heights in the correct radius's and get you 100-200 rpm. Otherwise changing to a new/different set is the better option.
We have test props to try without buying if that interests you.

I agree with Brett. You can only squeeze 200-300 rpm out of the Hering 32's. I have to think your engines need more than 5000 rpm to be happy. Just compare to the MerCruiser 525's at 560 hp and a rev limit at 5450 rpm. Unless these are blower motors, I would guess the dyno sheet calls for 5400-5600 rpm to achieve max horsepower. Please consult with your engine builder as to rpm required, and give us a call to discuss. We have had great results with our stock P-5 X';s on your application.
