Cig Bullet Propping

I know this has been discussed on some older threads, but I wanted to get some up to date opinions. I have a 1988 Bullet, no notch. It's a heavy boat with a full cabin.

Boat has Bravo drives (old style) , about 550hp a side (not dynoed). Engines are 468ci, 250 blowers, stainless marine exhaust. Right now, I have 27 pitch Mirages and spin 5100rpm. Speed is low 70s.

Looking for better cruise and a little more speed. My thoughts from some research has me thinking 26 pitch Bravo 1 4 blades.

Appreciate thoughts, opinions, and data. Thanks!

I agree with the 26 Bravo's. They should turn about the same rpms as the 27's you have.

+1 , Cruise should be much better.

+1 I think you'll be pretty happy with the all arounds gains of a 4 blade.

I have some 24 hydromotive 4 blade that you can try, I don;t know how they work on a Bullet and they maybe to small !!!

Maybe Brett from BBlades can give you some insite and he has a test program.!!!

I'd try a revolution 25 four blade. The drives are prop pretty deep on the bullet. I think that prop would work well for you

I've never had any luck with hydros on a bullet from what I've tried. Bravo 4 blades seem to be the ticket.

What he said. Mine had just about the same HP, was able to turn 26 Bravo1's @ 5500. Just about the same top speed as the 3-blades....but you will be much better in the 3500-4000rpm range. Probably see between a 4-6mph increase for cruising.

Thanks to all. I was thinking from previous threads that was the way to go.

The Bullet I just bought has 26p Bravo 4b's on it. I loved how it rode with those. I don't have anything to compare it too yet, but I was pretty happy with the setup off first impressions :D
