Clueless on prop selection

I need help selecting a prop for my new boat. I know it's nothing like the monsters you guys have, but I know the knowlee here is plentiful.

My boat is an 88 Cobia Allante bowrider with a 260hp 350 Merc. The engine is all stock for now. I'm looking for a good all around prop and one for if I want more top end.

Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks!!

Need to know what outdrive and ratio you are running, and desired rpm or rpm range of engine, probably somewhere around 4600-5000. What prop is on it now, gps speed and rpm? If we have a base run to start from we can go from there. If for some reason it didnt come with a prop, borrow a 21p and tell us the numbers.

Right now the engine is the 260hp 350 Merc Alpha 1. I have yet to put the boat in the water due to delayed parts arrival.

What is your ultimate is important as well.
If you are planning to do watersports or only to go fast will help to determine the best casting option.

Thanks Brett. What I'm looking for is a good waterspouts prop and an all out speed prop.

Ok, these are not one in the same.
For watersports we like 4-5 blade propellers and for speed on your hull we recommend 3 blade props.
So, it is best if we discuss this on the phone and we can give you some options and potentially some test props.

Call anytime.
Thank you,
Brett

Took boat out yesterday. It had a miss. It was running 45ish when finally on plane at 4500 rpm. The prop is a 15"x17 three blade prop.

Potentially the propeller has some issues. What does "when finally on plane" mean?

We had to put somebody in the bow for the boat to get on plane.
