What props do I need

I'm currently buying a 07 42 fountain lightning. Someone in its previous life put 1"spacers in the drives and put 32lab bravo 4 blades on it. It has 525s with ITS And sport masters on it. I would like to take the spacers out and get it set back up the way it should be. So where do I start? 30 max's?

Yes, that is a perfect option to test. In fact we have done many conversions on your hull type from Bravo 1 propellers to Maximus props.
Call us and we can set you up with test props.

I called and left a message today.

So you want to change it before you even run it? Most guys do their homework before doing some changes like that, I would run it the way it is before I changed anything and see what happens RPM and speed wise. Just my 2 cents

Testing the current set up first does make good sense. Comparing the 2 sets solidifies making a change.
My point is that going to Maximus props on that particular hull is more often than not a great overall performance upgrade.

Brett, never would I doubt your expertise, knowledge and experience. It just sounded to me like this is a new boat to him and he was doubting the reasoning behind the changes that where made. Props are to me the hardest component to get dialed in so most guys do their homework before making changes especially when changing prop depth or am I wrong?

C.I.M.

We are pretty caught up on calls. Please send me a PM or call again as we haven't spoken as of yet.

Thanks,Brett

I'll call again tomorrow. Yes I have ran the boat. The reason I question what someone else has done is that I know that they were not set up like this from the factory. It is way under propped. Or it has a terrible lab job on them. I can run the drives at neutral trim and still have throttle left and its hitting the limiters. I don't have any speed numbers as of yet cause the GPS puck is bad. Hopefully I can get some numbers this weekend.

use the free app on your cell phone for the GPS, I had the same issue with my GPS last year and had to wait for it.
