should I be running a bigger prop?
25' Eliminator Eagle. Supercharged 502 mag, bravo 1 with IMCO lower, 1.5 ratio I believe. Aftermarket headers.. Running a stainless 28P lapped. With bigger HP numbers, should I be running a 30+ maybe?

Depends on what RPM you're turning the 28
|
Well, at wot it'll turn 5000 but just cruising at 40 yesterday I had to turn 3k ish. Feels like I'm never really putting much of a load on the motor is why I'm thinking bigger. Not that I do, but if I hammer down out of the hole I can about bury the tach. Seems like with the power there, ide still have the grunt to spin a bigger prop when needed but could also cruse around at a lower rpm.

With a 30 you will probably lose about 300 RPM on top, try it. You may add a little cup to the 28 and see if it helps.

I'm not sure what a little cup is? Kinda new. I do know my 28 has been sent off twice to be re worked... I've got a stock 30 but was told that would perform worse than my lapped 28..?.. My buddy with a similar setup on a 28' eagle runs a 33 I think so it got me thinkin. Thanks again.

Definitely try the 30.
Who did the work on the 28? Are there any serial numbers? Brett |
I'll have to check it for numbers but it was a place in Denver. Maybe the last owner can tell me. He said he sent it in to get tuned, then he hit a and barge or something so he sent it back to be fixed..

Who knows what that 28 is by now, you have nothing to lose by trying the 30.
