Might be easier to find the cleavers or the mirages floating around also a lot cheaper ----I have a pair of 23 cleavers you can try on the boat but I do not want to sell them. have to dig them out from one of my old boats.... Call me if you want to try them out ------440-967-6683

The cleavers will give you more top end but they are tricky to come on plane some times.

Those motors are fine, but you must remember several things:

1) Your peak hp will be somewhere around 5500-5800rpm. The cam specs you gave are the Comp Magnum 280H Flat Tappet Hydraulics. Those where used millions of times back in the 80's + 90's. Not in boats much. Not that that means anything, but more that I and millions of other know where they perform up to.

I'd prop for 5400-5500 rpm first. And maybe try a little higher from there.

2) They are 350's. You have a heavy boat that sits/rides in the water a lot. Don't overload them, let them get to the rpm they make most power. They should start to sing nice from 4800rpm and up.

Thank you very much for your generosity, I will try to find a set I can buy first then go from there.

Yes, I understand most of that, as I can get the same speed out of the props that are on the boat at 4500rpm as I can with a true set of 25P mirages at 3200rpm, but it just seems that there is tons of stearn in the water right now - more than what there should be anyways.
