Diffuser ring removal
I have a set of Ron Hill 15x30 Hammerheads (Bravo copy) that are vented for outboards. The props worked fine on my friends Talon Carrier CC cat which has a heavy inner liner. I have a Talon ex race cat and the Hammerheads, spinning out, cause the cat to buck from bow to stern. I have talked to a few friends who think the diffuser ring may be causing the bucking. The general concensus is to cut the diffuser ring off to eliminate the bucking. I would appreciate any educated opinions on the subject from Brett or anyone in the prop business.

I know how to remove it. Just asking for input on what handling changes to expect after removal. Will it stop the porpoise or are the big ear four blade bravo design not the prop for my Talon. They are loads of fun for launching off of big lake chop. Two friends, in the know, are really impressed with the BBlade Blaster 4 blade. Smaller surface area props in comparison. My Talon responds best to clevers for refrence. Just wanted to get the most out of these props for a spare set.

If you are not experiencing any ventilation upon planning, remove .75" diffuser rings.
This will aid in decreasing the stern lift. Typically the higher the engines are mounted the more stern lift the rings will induce as they become a extension of the gear case.. Brett |

You're welcome. Too bad the shipping to and from add a extra week.
Enjoy, Brett |
