Mach Sterndriver prop unusual hub! need help

I did some trading on some used valvetrain parts for what i was told was a bravo 4 blade. when the prop arrived it was a Mach Sterndriver prop and did not have the usual bravo square bore drop in hub. It came with a hub but it is 1'' propshaft and i have 1.25''. does anyone know what this hub is or if they even make one for 1.25' what are my options?

This thing must be quite the oddity....

Looks like PowerTech.

Thanks I emailed them hopefully hear something. If I can't locate a hub for it do I have any other options that make sense cost wise. Is it possible to weld a solid hub in it that makes sense cost wise vs selling g and buying different

I could be wrong but I thought Powertech hubs had only 2 divertors not 3 and they used a total of 12 cushions. Powertech called it CushionLok hub system. just saying.

Maybe google - images of powertech cushionlok hub system. I would if I could but google search locks my computer up completely and so does Bing.

From what I searched on google and YouTube it didn't look like their hub it had a lot more vision tubes and not as pronounced tabs sticking out

Well It made me wonder to so I pulled this off of www.ptprop.com in which is Powertech's website. Hopefully it is current catalog showing their hub design and just like I remembered their cushion hub system from the PAST.. (2 dividers and 12 cushions).

Click on link below and scroll thru the pages and they show their hub kit first couple of pages down and then again at the last couple of pages.

Powertech emailed back and said it looks like an original mach factory style hub? No clue on where to buy one. Is mach propellers out of business

I knew it was not a powertech hub kit. Try Teague a couple of years ago I think they did but do not know currently. If no luck, wonder if you could get a rubber pressed in hub installed by a propshop Just saying

Whatever you do, don't call the seller and tell'm he ****ed up and to please take the prop back.

It looks closest to a PT or one of the old PP hubs. I've been working on and around Mach's since Reggie owned them. It's not like any Mach hub I've seen. I don't claim to have seen them all, just most of them.
Here is the standard Mach hub.
I have some for sale if anyone is interested in a vintage propeller.

Pressing in a rubber hub won't work with the 3 ribs in place. Are there splines in the insert?

Its a labbed 34p on a 800+HP cat I don't know that a rubber hub will do the job.

SB I get it. But in reality I traded an old flat tapped can and lifters pushrods I couldn't use and a set of aluminum rockers for it. If someone would have offered me 100 bucks for the lot I would have taken it. Therefore I am not that worried about the deal. Just wish it had a normal hub so I could.drop in a 1.25

Bret when I get home I will take a picture of the other end of the hub. It looks like what you posted. What I posted was the drive side of the hub if you will . showed the pattern the best

I can't offer too much more help here but the hub Brett displayed is exactly the hub I had when I used a Mach 4 blade Sterndriver. The hub worked fine and the prop was super easy to install and remove. I did not however push that large of a prop nor with 800 hp.

Regarding performance it was probably the best all around prop I've ever used. In a way I regret selling it (I re-powered). It was smooth, fantastic out of the hole and virtually immune to blow out. The slip numbers at cruise were under 5% which was completely mind boggling. I think the number was actually lower but I can't find my spreadsheet for that prop right now to verify. It was not my fastest prop.

I can't say you'll have all the same results but if you get the hub situation worked out there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

Best of luck.

I've also read good things about them which is why I would love to find the bigger 1.25" hub so I can use it. It came from a similar 25-26' cat with 1.36 gears and 1000+ HP and ran very well. I will have 850ish and 1.5 gears and think this prop will be very close but it will not fit my -2 imco with large shaft
