Prop suggestions
 

So Ive got a 25Foot Eliminator Eagle. New motor almost done. ProCharged 540 and going to be in the 900-1000 HP range. Bravo 1 upper with IMCO Extreme lower. 1.5 gear. Dual Full hydro steering. I don't think my 4 blade 28 and 30 pitch props are going to be adequate. I like what I read about the 5 blade props but kind of looking for suggestions on a starting prop. Ide like something that plains easier and is a better cruising blade. Not as concerned about every single last MPH on the top. I have a feeling ive got enough motor to go faster than the hull is ready for..

I would start with your 30p until you feel you need to go faster (which will probably be in the 90's depending on rpm), then go to a 32 b1, I wouldn't see a need for a 5 blade unless you have a high x dimension and horrible slip...

I could be wrong but i"m pretty sure you will shred that upper with a 30 + pitch 5 blade and 1000hp. Even with a 30 or 32 B1 you will have to baby it.

With 900+ hp in this hull it is probably a true 100+ mph boat, when that day comes be sure to strap on your vest and helmet!

What RPM's are you planning on running with your cam and head combination? I'm guessing you will be at 56-5800, and with a estimated 15% slip, a 32p bravo will put you at 100. I hit 90 last summer in a 28Eagle with a 30p & way less power than you're going to have. I don't think you are going to have the problem planning like you had before. That 540 with aluminum heads is going to have plenty of torque to get that boat on plane. I think you should start with your 30 to break it in and look for a 32. When you are ready to take it up a notch, (or until you rip the gears out) you may need to look at installing 1.36 gears in the drive.

Was planning to turn 6000-6500 on the high end but don't need to do that all the time. I'll start with the 30 that I have and go from there. Might have to look for an IMCO extreme upper to match the lower.. Inspecting the drive next week just to make sure it's still OK for now.

I figured you were going to run higher rpms. 6200rpm on that 30 and a 15% slip factor gets you 100mph. Your slip numbers might be a little higher, but those are rough numbers. You can inspect the drive, but it is only rated for about 500-600 hp, so it is only a matter of time before it will be an issue. I would start looking for drive options. Your only salvation is your hand on the throttle and being in a lighter boat. We have changed many drives over the years due to, to much HP and not very many can hold upto 1000 HP for logevity. As I said, your biggest factor is your hand on the throttle.

Well, I'm not even sure that hull will do 100 lol.. Maybe with trim tabs. Sounds like the 30 might not be to bad then! Guess it shall be fun to see!

Well that is another conversation. I hear that the 25 starts to get squirly at about 90, and I'm sure tabs would be a nice addition. As Sabo stated: when that day comes be sure to strap on your vest and helmet! And have good water and other boats around to pull you in when the drive lets go.

As long as the helmet cam handle it, I've also herd that if you can push through it they start to settle down again once you get through the 90s..

Fordtrucks, how fast have you gone in this boat prior? any chine walking?

Mid to high 80s. My buddy that sold it to me did 89. Yes, at those speeds it would begin to chine walk. I'm hoping that with more power I won't need to trim up as much and maybe keeping slightly more boat in the water will keep it a little more stable. That was with 650 ish HP and a 28P prop.
