propeller for chris craft 225ltd

helllo, having major bowlift and blowout problems with my mirage+. my hull is clued to the water with zero bow lift, measured my drive height and my prop axle is 4.7" below the bottom off the hull, that is 2" higher than my friends 22 sea ray pachanga. should i go to 4 blade prop or what??

Measured my x-dimension today and it is 17". I just dont understand why Chris craft set it so hi. I think this explains why it was so fast with original merc 5.0 230hp motor 52mph with 19" mirage plus.. if X is 17" where does it set my prop axle height.. I would like to hear some prop suggestion..

so you have a alpha one or a Alpha gen II outdrive ?? what year and set up -- engine / drive / transom assembly is in the boat ? current hp is ???

Chris Craft was an OMC company for many years so is this a 1988 year model or back ? if so Alpha one Merc ?

Boat is year model 1988, original set up, alpha one gen1 drive and 5.0 230hp merc engine, 52mph with 21" mirage+. last engine was SBC 377cid stroker 370hp @5200rpm with original alpha drive, top speed was 60mph with 21" mirage+.

IMO --- alpha drives with 23 ft boats and down the Mirage prop seemed not to be the best prop period.

Problem solved, revolution 4 20" was superior compared to mirage plus, bravo 1 22" was even better than revolution 4.
