What compares to a Rev 4 in big pitches?
I'm currently running a old 29p solid hub mirage with good results but have ran a revolution 4 in the past when my boat as naturally aspirated with awesome results (not quite a fast but the handling was great!). I have a stock 32 bravo also and no problems turning it, but I hate how it handles with that prop. Pitch seems about right though...
Wanting to find out what would compare to a revolution 4 in stock form? Anything that hydromotive makes? The new bravo fs series possibly? Thanks |
There isn't anything out there that replicates a Rev 4 in high pitches. I have been lobbying for a 27 Rev 4 since we built them in 1998. The best you will find is to have us modify the Bravo 1 pitch casting of your choice. We can create a very similar personality to the Rev 4.
The new FS series Bravo 1 isn't anything new. It is simply a Bravo 1 casting from the same mold built in 1995. Then the diffuser ring is cut off, the cups are slightly reduced, the LE is wedged and PVS holes are drilled into the exhaust tube. These are all adjustments done during various Lab recipes we have been doing for years. It is a slightly tweaked Bravo i casting. Concider trying one of our 4-SPEED OB/FX castings. Brett |
Brett, thanks for your input on this.
Hows the 4speed ob/fx compare to a rev 4 as far as lifting characteristics? From the website it sounds like it'd respond to trim well. How's it compare to a bravo pitch wise- the 15.25" dia version? I haven't ran into anyone that's tried one of them yet. What do you think would get me closest to what I'm after (rev4), the 4 speed ob/fx or working my 32 bravo? |
The lift of the OB/FX is stronger than a Bravo 1. It has similar characteristics to a Rev 4 in the 14.75" option
It would be be a great idea for you to test our OB/FX via our test program. That way you can try without buying. Brett |
