Brett Thank you . It all ends at the prop. Seems to me a good place to have strong understanding. |
I have the 3 and 4 th edition. the last edition the 4 th edition was written in 1992. IMO nothing ground breaking in there since there is a vast of info out on the net and in powerboat magazines offering alot more current info. It tells how the merc props were made and offerings again in 1992 so most of those props are not even around anymore.
there was 7 Hydrodynanics Acknowledgements listed for help with the info of the book. DC was one of them. 3 names for manu, 2 names for marketing for other input., Its a 55 page book. Here is the outlined chapters. History and development Basic prop parts How props work Prop terminology prop design and manu types of props and Quicksilver selection --- ( my words outdated by far how to select prop ) common asked questions about boating performance - (my words hull bottoms have changed alot since this book was written as well ). That's when I started at Mercury in the service department.
I feel the theory is still relevant. Guess who put a lot of that info out there? Yeah, we have shared a ton of info over the last 15+ years. I actually was forbade to answer questions on this site in 1998 after having done so. I told the truth about a chopper propeller. The Merc Racing senior staff didn't want me stirring the pot. This was in the infancy of this format. Brett |
