Would help if you can give some speed numbers at 6200 and drive ratio. How heavy is this apache?

I dont know enough about your boat but i would almost bet the propellers on it might be about rite for your setup. You might be able to get a better cruse speed but you will lose some on top.Your boat is full cabin it will be heavy and its side by side. Where are you located?

Yes, I agree with 14 apache. If you can spin those up to 6200 RPM, you should be good. You can go up in pitch to improve your cruise speed numbers, but it will reduce your top end RPM. Also, see how it planes, these boats are a little touchy when it comes to diameter. I put drive spacers in and was running 18" dia props. Boat hit a brick wall at 5200 RPM and would not go any higher. Puts a lot of stress on the drive when it comes out of the water because it will hit the limiter, and then immediately catch the water upon re-entry. Not good for the hardware unless you have superb reflexes (throttle) ....

Considering its not a race boat I wouldn't worry about the top end number in a pleasure 41'... Did you happen to get a dyno sheet for the engines? The torque numbers are going to show a lot of what you can do, also as has been mentioned the weight of the boat plays a part. The 3's are not ideal for speed but will be fine for cruising at LOTO. I agree the props that are on it are probably not bad, you can throw a lot of props on testing and end up with those back on...
If you really don't want to see the engines hitting those kinds of revs try the next pitch up and start writing down all the traits you find with each set.

Andy knew what he was doing. I wouldn't rush to change props on a boat that worked before you get some time it. If you load the engines with bigger props you just open a new issue. An extra 500 RPM wont hurt them as much as being loaded with boost, questionable gas and lots of Midwest heat.

I think you did great on that buy. I will miss seeing it around Texoma.
