Prop advise

I have a straight bottom 92 29 fountain with small blocks-450hp each. Looking for better boat attitude at cruiseing speeds-40-50mph. Currently running 25 Mirage Plus and the boat seems way too light in the bow. Normally cant trim above 1-1.5 with out using 4+ on the tabs to keep the bow from porpoiseing. Boat walks right up on plane with no hesitation.

2500-38MPH
3200-50MPH
3900-59MPH
I beleive the drives are 1.36 Ratio. Motors will spin to 6000 but not interested in top speed.
Any suggestions?

the regular mirage doesnt have as much bow lift. but a 4 or 5 blade will more than likely give you the best cruise. im sure more people will chime in.

You’re under propped. I would try a set of 26-28 4 blades. Verify your trim indicators also. 3 should be level on both drives and tabs. You shouldn’t need to run tab unless it’s snotty and you’re ride adjusting

I would try some 26" Bravo props. You'll see higher cruise speeds and less bow lift.

Not sure it’s any help but this weekend with my 2000 29 fountain with twin 377 1.50 drive was about 98 degrees out and could only pull 28 bravo to 4500 not sure on speed as I have a happy meter no gps was it was stuck on 74 with about 3/4 tank of fuel, as griff said I think the 26 is the way to go as You have more power than me, but no step... I’m on the look for some 26 bravos, but the Cruze speed with the 28 is awesome, and no problem getting on plane either...

I ordered a set of 24s today hopefully have them by the weekend. May end up with the 26s. I just dont want to lug the motors. My peak torque is 459 at 4700 and HP is 446 at 5300. HP is still at 430 at 6000. Seems my best cruise should be mid to upper 3000.

Prop it for peak hp. So prop for 5300. Then you can figure out cruise rpm from there

You nailed it Griff. 26" would be a bit better. Went with the 24s. Now spinning 3400 at 50mph.
Its a whole new boat. Bow stays level, trim 2.5-3, no tab needed at all. Cant beleive the difference.
