Props for 42 Lightning
Have a 04 42 Lightning, full stagger 525's, that I just put 2" Sport Master shorties on. Trying out 6 Blade 31P Herings right now but they're pretty beat up. Get out of the hole fairly easy with little blow out & hitting around 5000rpm RPM at 78 mph. Any suggestions what other props I should try? Spoke with Hydromotive & they suggest their P5X. anyone else have the same setup? Curious as to speed & type of prop.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Read the thread about Cutting Edge props & decided to give them a call. They quoted me $650 each with being Labbed finished. At that price you can't go wrong. Gonna try 31P 5 blade.

My best top speed was with 33p merc racing labbed bravo 1s. 84mph at 5400rpm on cool day with little fuel. I tried many different props and maximums 30s where also really good but lost couple mph on big end. I still have my 33s if interested in buying them? They where labbed by mercury racing for my 2006 42 with 525s.

700 for the pair plus the ride. They are perfect condition can forward you pictures if interested. I also have a set of mercury racing labbed 34 bravo ones but they did not work as well on my boat. Will sell them also if any interest.

Got the props on. What a huge difference in acceleration!! Boat just takes off. Even with -2 shorties it barely spins out getting up. Cruise feels better but conditions haven't been that good to really test top speed. So far 78mph at 5,000rpm. Has more to go, thats for sure. Experience with the company has been great. Props were done on time, like 4 days & they always answer my call. Probably be getting another set for my 38.
