Prop help rinker 232
 

Hey guys new here. Just bought a 96 rinker 232 cc. 454 mag bravo 1.

running With a bravo 1 22p. Only tested the boat a halv hour. Motor sounds and feels strong. Ran wot 42knots (48mph) on gps With a full tank and 3 guys in the boat. There is a whole lot of motor left. Im thinking this should be e 60mph boat with the right prop.

I dont know the gear ratio. And thats the problem. Im Guessing a bravo 24p or a mirage pluss 23p might be more suited to the boat?

problem is i live in norway. Props are hard to come by. And not easy to find to try out different types. So i might have to buy new from the states. And it would be Nice to end up with the right prop.

what prop du you think i should go with?

I assume the decal on the port side that showed the ratio is gone?
You didn't happen to mention what RPM the engine was at...can you tell us that? If anything less than 4600 - 4800 rpm, you have too much prop and need to go down in pitch size.

I have a 1995 Rinker 232 cuddy with 454 so about 300 hp at the prop. Boat came with a 21 - 3 blade Merc prop and I can hit 60mph (gps) with just me in the boat.

I have a mag motor. Supposed to be 365hp. No ratio to be found. I think a 21p mirage vil be to small. When i easly Max out at 5000+ rpm with a bravo 22p. Want to try a bravo 24p. Have a guy thant wants to sell me a bravo 26p but im afraid that might be to much prop.

I have a 1998 Cobalt 252 with a 502 mag 1.50 Bravo 1 and a Mirage plus 23 pitch.

My boat weighs 4500 lbs dry, 502 mag makes 415 HP and was running 5200 RPM at 63 MPH.

Your boat weighs 3900 lbs dry, and your engine makes 365 HP. So a good starting point I would guess would be the same prop as mine.

If you go with a Bravo 1 prop, they are 4 blade and general rule of thumb has been to drop 1 pitch when going from a 3 blade to a 4.

If you don't have any props available to buy in Norway, do you have a reputable place that can repair or re-pitch props for you? That way if you are close, you can just have yours adjusted instead of trying to purchase an entirely new prop.

If it was me , and based on the complexities of getting the right part the first time in a location that doesn't have lots of stuff readily available I would check that the tach is reading correctly before going on a prop hunt.
A tach that isn't reading correctly can really play with your mind.

Just found and bought a used bravo 24p. I Will be trying out hopefully the boat is in the water in easter

If you are turning a 22 pitch Bravo one prop 5000 RPM you should be going 58-60MPH not 48. Good luck with your boat. (check that tachometer)
