Looking for helpful advice on props
I purchased a 33 Outlaw powered by HP 500’s. Bravo one drives, imco ext boxes and imco -2 lowers. Currently have 5 blades will have to check on what pitch. I owned this boat a couple years ago with current setup and didn’t have any issues with cavitation while trying to get on plane.
The guy I sold it to and who I purchased back from had sent the props out to be labbed. He g he hadn’t driven the boat since having them done. The reasoning to have them labbed I was told was because there was a small ding in the starboard side prop. Knowing how the boat ran before selling it to knowing how it currently runs is there a possibility that him having the props recently worked cause this issue with cavitation? if so what’s my best option buying hydromotive P5x in the correct pitch or having these current ones redone? And can they be recorrected if they weren’t done properly? TIA https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a37a64a03.jpeg |
Send the props out to a different shop and have them checked.

So in theory the prop shaft has been raised 4 inch, where is it in reference to the bottom of the hull

did it have those drive showers when you first owned it ? I had a 33 OL back in the day 502 meg mpi's and bravo1's ran 4blade 28p mirage +.......Baja hulls like bow lift if they run flatter no speed, Id talk to the shop that did the prop work to see what they did

Check and see if the rear trim pin spacer is installed behind the pin,
Looking at the picture, the cylinders look like they’re fully retracted but the drives don’t look like they’re in the full down position. Also, is the prop rotation the same as when you had it?.....I had a 33 with boxes and high drives, and it would blow out worse running outside rotation |
