Bravo FS props

So, has anyone made the switch to a Bravo FS? If so from what, and what were the results?

I ran a pair of 26s on my former 28 Manta with outboards. I liked my Mirage Plus 25s better but there wasn't a huge difference one way or the other. I expected the hole shot to be leaps and bounds better but it was not. Top end was roughly equivalent. Cruise speed was notably faster for the same rpm.

eRibbing has has a pretty good write up on them. I had a regular bravo 1 that I had labbed and the diffuser removed which is basically the FS. I had a lot more bow lift but slower on plane time.

Did you pick up rpm when the barrel was cut a ears labbed?

Picked up rpm from the labbed blades. Not sure if the diffuser removal added any.

Price of Bravo I

When I checked this summer, a 34 inch Bravo I was 1400 dollars at PartsVu.

Smaller might be cheaper.

When I had 2 hours on my 300R, I tested at least 5 props. A 26P Bravo 1 turned 70 mph @ 6000 rpm and a 24P Bravo FS turned 72 mph @ 6200 rpm. The engine was not broken in then and it turns much higher now. Slip with both Bravos was similar and under 10%, but the 26P Bravo with the diffuser actually came on the plane much faster than the 24P Bravo FS. The standard Bravo 1 also did not chine walk and did not lift the bow as much as the Bravo FS.

I shortened the barrel of my 24 Bravo 5/8", which is same as an FS, but no blade work. Slower to plane, gained 400rpm, lost 3 mph.
now have a box stock 26 to try. "Theoretically" it should drop about 200rpm from the box stock 24. Yet still be a couple mph faster. Unfortunately can't test until next week. If it works out well I'll probably have it labbed to regain that 200rpm.
