Tuff 16 Propeller advice
Hey guys.
I am looking for some help on choosing a new propeller for my Tuff 16. The boat has a 60hp Mercury 4 stroke and came with a 13 spline 10” 17 pitch aluminum prop. With this set up I can run 50mph at ~6000rpm. The label on the drive shows 12x22. I am wondering if I should try a 12x22 prop. Should I try Aluminum, stainless steel, blade or cleaver? Please share your ideas. Thanks for the help! |
Going up 2 inches in diameter and 5 inches in pitch, you will struggle to turn that propeller if you are doing 6k on a 10x17. I would try going up to a 19 or 21 first before increasing diameter

That sounds like a good idea. Maybe i will look for a used 10x19 or 10x21 and see how that works. |
If you want to know what works best - call Mark or Thomas @ Tuff.
They are great to speak with... |
Where are you located? I have some props in that size range I use on my Thundercat.
