My friends 242 502ho, worked The best with REVOLUTION 4. My single 26ft stinger loves it also, was The best with Old 500hp 502cid /high x, 4.7" Below, now with 670hp /3.7" Below IT is also The best prop. Have tried few bravos and those sucks big Time, worst of all tested props.

I tried 24 pitch bravo1 yesterday, it only went 45 Mph @ 4000rpm. Then i tried Mirage 23, went 45Mph @ 4100 Rpm I can trim them up to 4800 Rpm and massive Rooster tail but she never gets faster. With the 24 Bravo1 i had a feeling the bow was mor up as with revolution and mirage. Rpms are too low i think. I could try now bravo 22 or mirage 21, but i'm not sure this 502 engine should turn a 23 mirage without problems? Maybe the motor is low on power? Did you remember to take trailer off the boat ? :p |

Its the original hook. If i remember right its about the last 2ft of the hull, 1 or 1.5 inch down.

The factory hook on the 242 is only from the strake to the chine. Once the boat is out of the water, the hook is no longer a factor.
The 26 four blade you tried has way too much pitch for a 502 in the 242. The factory prop was a standard Mirage 23P. You might want to try a 23P Mirage+ or a 22P Bravo. Why was the X dimension raised? I had a 242 and contemplated raising the X when the transom and stringers were redone, but opted to leave it alone. That boat had a supercharged 454 that ran upper 80's when I had it; all with the factory geometry. |

I Put the X-Dim on the higher side because i thought Shorty is expensive, spacer is cheap. :drink: |
