525 efi rebuilds

Hi all,
My boat has stock 525s in it and around 300 hours on them. They run awesome and i take care of them. The rebuilds i was told should be done at 500 hrs. Im looking down the road for rebuild prices and any recomadations. Cost, location, etc. I love the way the boat runs and thought about the upgrade to the whipples but the boat does 98.5 the way it is. I am happy with that just for the reliability . But merc says the 600 and 700sci are just as reliable.Has anyone done anything to there 525s?

Brother it's my belief that the more you HP add the more offen you have to put a wrench on it. Just picture your self adjusting valves before you go out for example. If you have releablity and that much speed as well and all you have to do is general mantinence. I think I would stick with it the way it is. Thats just my opion and you know what they say about those. Everyone has one.

Shouldn't you be looking at doing the top end of 525s around 300 hours?

Absolutely, and the headers should go back to cmi for maintenance as well

Alittle port work and cam and PCM upgrade should get you really close to 600HP.

I'm sending my 500 Efi heads out to Skip of MRD. Having the CMIs pressure tested. I have bravo's so don't want to mess with more HP. Any experience with mRD?
