Anyone replace their headliner??
 

I pulled the headliner out of my Checkmate 2800 project. I'm thinking about pulling the carpet off the hull sides also. What have you guys used for removing the glue/fabric residue from the the fiberglass?? Any suggestions for what to replace the headliner with?? Vinyl/carpet??

Did it on a 33 Sonic. It's a biotch. Use a air tool or drill with fine/soft wire wheel to remove glue. Works great but very messy, wear respirator. I used foam backed vinyl to hide the imperfections. I could not talk my upholstery guy to even look at it much less do it. Good Luck.

+1 Never done it, but heard that it is the #1 PIA to do. Hopefully I'll never have to.

3M has an adhesive remover that works good, comes in a red can but only available in certain states now. I can buy it in Michigan, not in Ohio. There is another 'safer' one for Ohio, I bought it but haven't tried it yet.

I purchased MEK to remove the glue. I have not tried it yet.

SeSentine 767 was recommended to me.. look in the Classic Threads about a month ago.. lotsa good insight on Carpet Adhesive removal.

I did my Pantera, but I won't ever do it again! I re-carpeted and used weldwood contact adhesive. Just about died in there and still have little brain activity ;o)
It did come out quite nice though.
