Weiand 177's
So Weiands are build to order, looks like a 14 day wait :( ten days left. Oh well that will give me time to finish the bilge & get the finishing touches done to the dash.

Some single carb 250 blowers would be perfect for those small blocks. Big enough for the HP your looking for and not have to spin too hard and small enough to still be useful at lower rpm.

So, got one engine done ready almost ready, thats the good news.
Bad news is, the engine that ran best ended up having 3 broken valve springs, a bad roller lifter, cracked head & two bent valves! New set of W.P. heads ported polished, cc'ed, cut for bigger valves 205/16 all new lifters, TI springs & S.S. valves, smaller blower cam, HV oil pumps, crank, rod & cam bearings & a new set of rings. Luckily no damage to any pistons. Chargers should be here wed. mornings those will be installed & then its dyno time!! |
keep on with the pics,

Sounds like it's coming along fine, can't wait to see the dyno results, I bet you will be happy the numbers!! keep us posted!!

Yea, they don't make them anymore but there are plenty of near new used ones out there and parts are available at rebuild time as well. Good luck with the build and post some dyno numbers!
That makes sense, explains why I coulndnt fine them new anywhere haha. I will post # I dont think they are going to be what I was hoping for due to the lower boost to stay efficient. Thats ok it will still be a 100+ on the water, just cant wait to find out how much + haha!! |

Looks good, mine is also a old race boat had canopies on it until the late 90's. The seats were already in the boat when I bought it had 5pt harnesses on them. I pulled them apart to recover them, found out they are Aluminum Kirkey racing seats. Same ones I have in my race cars. I was going to change them out for something that hugs you into to seat a little more but ran out of $$$$ so I had them recovered for now.
This is a pic of this boat from 96' http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...at100411AM.png |
