My formula is a full glass floor with large access panel over fuel tank. Maybe glass and blend to sides so it is smooth and continuous. Then some non skid and paint. Could add snap in carpet I ya wanted. I'm sure others will have more and better ideas just going by what I have.

I had to replace the floor in my Velocity as well. I did the typical wood and fiberglass method but instead of carpet or Sea dek I used Dekadence flooring. www.marineflooring.com
I like the idea of being able to take it out whenever I wanted to clean the boat or get to the fuel tank and its much softer than carpet and water runs right through it. So far I have been really happy with it and others that have seen it are looking at getting it for their boats.
