Also I have to admit that when I realized I am going to have to put new tanks in it I got a little discouraged.Gonna get back on it! will post pics as soon as I do.

You can buff it till your blue in the face it will shine for a little while then fade back out. If you can paint it do that.

Finally got time to work on my Top Gun. Got the starboard motor out, gimbles off, tabs off, and finished stripping the transom. The next step is to start cutting the glass off of inside of transom. I will hopefully get to it in the next couple of weeks. I will post more pics then. I can't wait to cut transom apart and see how bad it is.

now thats one hell of a way to lift a motor. ha ha ha... keep up the good work. just remember you will have far more pride in something you built and brought back to life than someone who just went out and bought all done up. plus think of all the bonding time you will have with your little helper there.

+1.....going through the same thing, except I'm at the tail end, its been a long 2 yrs...but keep at it, time goes faster than you think and sdg is right you will have far more pride in your project and when your done you will know every inch of that boat, and how to fix anything,...you and that little helper of yours keep her going, looking good....

Thank yall for the encouragement, it helps when someone who has been there can tell you it's worth it. I feel like we have a long road to go but we have had a good time working on it so far. My boy is at the age now he asks everyday if we can work on the boat. It helps keep me motivated.

those will be memories of a life time for both you and him, trust me on that. there is no greater joy than spending true quality father son time together. think of all the life lessons you can teach him about determination and hard work. I have a 7 year old and a 3 year old. both of them jump at the chance to help dad break... err I mean fix things. That is where the true pride in your work will come in, when you can stand back years from now and your son can talk about how you and him built that boat. I've wrenched on more projects than I care to remember, but I can recall the look on my boys face every time I would ask him to help me work on something. So when you get discouraged simply remember this could end up being far more than "just a boat". keep up the good work, and keep the photos coming. It's looking really good so far.
