Fuel pump modified 330 454 Gen V

Hey new here and had a question regarding a fuel pump for my Gen V 454 build. I'm having Bob @ Marine Kinetics grind a custom roller cam for me, but am curious if the Stock merc mechanical pump will support 420 or so horsepower? I'm told its the same pump as the HP500 comes with, but wanted to make sure. Thanks!

Are you having the block cut open for the pump? Any mark IV cam will fit already having a lobe for the fuel pump.

No I will be using a Gen VI cam. I am keeping my sea water pump which drives the special mercruiser mechanical fuel pump. I just want to see if others who have modified the 330 to around 420-450hp have used the stock pump to do so. Thx

Stock pump is fine
